Fyrkat Ringborg has become part of UNESCO's World Heritage List - a blue stamp that tells you that this is an impressive story and absolutely worthy of preservation.
Fyrkat Ringborg has been recognized at The World Heritage List in the company of Denmark's 4 other ring castles - below Aggersburg, which is also located in Himmerland.

Fyrkat ring castle is part of Fyrkat Viking Museum, which belongs to the North Jutland Museums.

Fyrkat Ringborg, an impressive Viking castle located in the beautiful landscape of Himmerland, has now been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dating back to the Viking Age, when Harald Blåtand ruled, this historic fortification represents a significant part of Denmark's cultural heritage and tells a fascinating story about the society of the past.

Fyrkat Ringborg was built in the 10th century and is known for its impressive architecture and strategic location. The castle's circular shape and well-preserved earthen ramparts bear witness to skillful construction and engineering skills, which were characteristic of the Viking age.

On the UNESCO World Heritage List, Fyrkat Ringborg is recognized for its importance as a center for the political and social life of Viking society. It functioned as a powerful royal castle and a place where decisions of importance to society were made.

UNESCO's recognition not only highlights Denmark's history, but also focuses on the importance of the Viking Age on a global scale. It is an honor and a joy to see Fyrkat Ringborg included in UNESCO's World Heritage List, where it can inspire and educate future generations about our common historical heritage.
