Bramslev Bakker is a protected area of approx. 300 ha. There is access via marked paths.
The protected area lies down to Mariager Fjord. The view over the fjord from the parking lot at Bramslev Bakker is one of North Jutland's most impressive. The steep slopes are an abrupt interruption of the more even, high-lying farmland that surrounds the fjord.
The fjord is a so-called tunnel valley, the formation of which was finally completed by colossal meltwater flows under the ice 20.000 years ago. Studies indicate, however, that a valley was already located here in the Tertiary period over 1 million years ago. years ago, and that this valley has been deepened by the advancing ice.
In Bramslev Bakker there are several marked walking routes - read e.g. about The PANORAMA route.
Below Bramslev Bakker is a beautiful beach, which has been awarded the White Flag. Here you can bathe from the water's edge and the bathing bridge. The White Flag is a replacement for the Blue Flag, and is still a sign of a good bathing place with clean water - it also means that dogs are welcome.
By the bathing bridge is located The Swan tour boat for the whole summer.
At the top of Bramslev Bakker lies Bramslev Bakker Camping, Hotel BramslevGaard og Bramslev Bakker Restaurant, where a good cup of coffee or perhaps dinner can be enjoyed with a magnificent view of the hills and the fjord.
